ERIN BARBER, LMHC
PRACTICE OWNER

I strongly believe that our unhealthy behaviors and habits are often a result of trying to get our needs met in the best way we know how.  I aim to create a safe, judgement free space to explore the origins of these patterns, heal younger parts and identify healthier tools for coping with life.  Since graduating from Lesley University in Cambridge, Massachusetts with a master’s degree in clinical psychology, I gained extensive clinical experience treating adults and adolescents with mental health and substance abuse issues in acute hospitalization, partial-hospitalization, and out-patient settings.  With an interest in reaching people more deeply on their journey, I opened my private practice in 2013. My practice continued to grow since relocating to Brevard County, Florida in 2018 and becoming Counseling Space, LLC in 2020.

I offer individual counseling to adults and adolescents struggling with unresolved trauma, depression, anxiety, substance abuse, grief/loss, relationship issues, and life transitions.  I use a psycho-dynamic approach to explore thoughts, feelings, and behavioral patterns while incorporating holistic tools, such as cognitive behavioral (CBT) and dialectical behavioral therapies (DBT), Eye-Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), mindfulness meditation, and stress management.
